Eric S. Berkley is a lifelong resident of the Detroit metropolitan area. Mr. Berkley holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and speech from Wayne State University. He received his law degree (with honors) in 1977 from the Detroit College of Law, now Michigan State University School of Law.


Mr. Berkley is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and in the federal district courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.  He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Association for Justice (formerly the MichiganTrial

Christopher E. Mengel

Christopher E. Mengel attended the University of Notre Dame

in South Bend, Indiana, and the College of the Holy Cross in

Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his law degree in 1979

from the Detroit College of Law, now Michigan State

University School of Law.


A former law school teaching fellow of Research, Writing &

Advocacy, Mr. Mengel is a published author who has argued

and briefed cases to the Michigan Supreme Court, the

Michigan Court of Appeals, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals

in Cincinnati, and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.


Mr. Mengel is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America).  Mr. Mengel’s biography is included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World.


Mr. Mengel is also the recipient of the Distinguished Brief Award for excellence in appellate advocacy for the most scholarly brief submitted to the Michigan Supreme Court.
